Bummer.

Did you put naked pictures of yourself in the article? Obviously not, or else they would have runt he first draft.

Erin,

I want to thank-you for this honest look at the writers life. I have been trying the writer life and I keep getting regected, which makes me cry.

I read your blog daily and think you are brilliant, to hear you say, "That is what it is like" with such disappointment made me realize tht even excellent writers get rejected, and it sucks major.

I am sorry you got a rejection letter, I am grateful that you shared the experience with me (us).

I send you hugs. I know how it goes. Though not a writer, per se, I am a content author for some websites and the constant re-writes followed by a change of course is like getting a trout-smack in the face some days.

Breaking up is hard to do...

No worries Erin. Writing is rewriting, or so my producer tells me. But these people obviously don't have any vision, if they did, they wouldn't blow you off like that.

You just have to find the right person. With my script; one up and coming director thought I needed a serious revision before he could even consider it. Then all of a sudden a director/producer with much more credits and pull in the industry came along and totally flipped over it. While this person suggested I do a rewrite, it's minimal.

Again, you just have to find the right person. One person's trash is another's jewels, or however the saying goes.

Keep going and stay true to what you want to write. Fuck everyone elses opinions. You're the one who has to sit and do it alone. And when that happens I always say have fun with it! Write what you like! Write what you want!

You have a lot of guts to put so much of yourself out there like this. These video blogs are so...personal. And revealing. I admire you tremendously.
